ABSTRACT
En el siglo XXI, con el paradigma de los tejidos blandos, la posición del incisivo superior con preponderancia respecto del incisivo inferior, pasó a ser un importante objetivo de tratamiento justificando nuevas técnicas de cementado de brackets. En este trabajo analizamos los conceptos de distintos autores: Dr. Holdaway, Dr. Proffit, Dr. Sarver, Dr. Eastham, entre otros. Seleccionamos una muestra aleatoria de 41 pacientes con sonrisa agradable después de haber finalizado su tratamiento de ortodoncia (no tomamos en cuenta biotipo facial, sexo, ni tratamiento, ni aparatología utilizada, sin el uso de microimplantes o cirugía ortognática).
In the XXI century, with soft tissues paradigm, the position of the upper incisor with preponderance over the lower incisor became an important goal that justifies new brackets bonding techniques. In this paper we analyse the concepts of different authors: Dr. Holdaway, Dr. Proffit, Dr. Sarver, Dr. Eastham, among others. We selected a random sample of 41 patients with nice smile after having orthodontic treatment fulfilled (we disregarded facial biotype, sex, or treatment, or appliances used, without use of miniscrews or orthognatic surgery).
